The International Crop Information System (ICIS) is a flexible, database system for management of crop research data, including pedigrees, selection histories, field and laboratory evaluations, and survey results. It is a tool for linking islands of data from diverse sources and making them freely available to researchers and research managers, whether at national or international research centers, NGOs or the private sectors. This training workshop is targeted at crop scientists, research associates, technicians, database managers and software developers who want to participate in the development, use of ICIS or support its wider use in diverse fields of agricultural research. For further information, visit the ICIS website at http://www.cgiar.org/icis.
