PERSONS Table Design v5.6

Field Name Description Data Type Field Size
PERSONID PERSON_ID. Unique identifier for one instance of a person. A person may appear several times in the PERSONS table, but the instances should vary by institution or affiliation dates. For example, recording both the private and business address of a person would require two records in Persons. Similarly a new record must be assigned if a person moves from one institute to another Number Long Integer
FNAME FIRST_NAME. The person’s first name. May be missing in the case of cooperators identified by institute without a person Text 20
LNAME LAST_NAME. The person’s last name (surname or family name). May be missing in the case of cooperators identified by institute without a person Text 50
IONAME INITIALS_OR_OTHER_NAMES. The person’s middle initial(s) or other names. May be missing in the case of cooperators identified by institute without a person Text 15

PTITLE TITLE_OF_PERSON. The person\'s official position. Text 25

PROLE

ROLE_OF_PERSON_ID. Index linked to the UDFLDS table to distinguish various possible roles for a person:

1. Full individual collaborator.
2. Designated representative of an institution.
3. Institution has declared that no person should be recognized as a colaborator or contact (in which case, the names will be missing).
4. Farmer or other individual acting in their own name, not through an institution

PSTATUS STATUS_OF_PERSON. Indicates whether a person is active at this post, relocated to another post, retired … Link to the UDFLDS table. Number Long Integer
PNOTES NOTES_ON_PERSON. Other notes on the person (e.g. biographic notes). Text 255
CONTACT Contact information of a Person if not Affiliated with an Institute Text 255
